On Thursday 30th April representatives from the Royal Cambodian Government, Friends-International, UNICEF and 14 partner organizations met to formally launch the second phase of the groundbreaking 3PC program. 3PC, which is an acronym for ‘Partnership Program for the Protection of Children’ was created by Friends-international and UNICEF in 2012 as a way of helping to cover the gaps in child protection existing in Cambodia through partnership with other organizations, both implementing and technical partners.
The Phase 2 launch took place at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation in Phnom Penh, with Executive Director of Friends Mr. Sebastien Marot in attendance, alongside His Excellency Say Siphon from the Government and Ms. Rana Flowers, the UNICEF Country Representative for Cambodia. After opening remarks and a presentation on 3PC, implementing and technical partners were able to present their role and contribution to the 3PC program.
A full day’s program concluded with a presentation of the Child Welfare Department Work Plan for 2015, followed by a breakdown of regulations and requirements for all implementing partners, touching on financial management, communications and reporting, before closing with a final question and answer session.
