Women’s Day 2009

Phnom Penh, Cambodia To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Home Based Production team organised a day out for all the mothers involved in the project (over 70 women!). The day included a day out sailing on the Tonle Sap, a picnic lunch on Silk Island and visiting silk producers.

This Home Based production project supports families by providing them with training and materials so that they can make products, including bags and accessories out of recycled materials. Friends-International then sells these products in its shops and the money the families earn means that their children can go to school instead of having to work to support the family.
