First ChildSafe members in Aceh

The first 8 Childsafe members to join the ChildSafe Network in Bandah Aceh have been certified. The members are all Bekak drivers, who will now play an active role in protecting children from abuse in Aceh.

At a ceremony at the Dinsos Park, the Teman Baik team recognised the drivers for successfully completing their training and becoming part of the network. The drivers were given helmets, ChildSafe logo stickers, member cards and jackets so that they will be easily recognised.

As well as the certification ceremony, there was a drawing competition for kids and performances by street children and youth. The ceremony was attended by other local NGOs, teachers and parents who are now helping to build awareness of ChildSafe in their community.
