The Click Five, a hugely popular American power pop band from Boston, Massachusetts touched down in Cambodia as part of the MTV EXIT 2011 tour. MTX EXIT aims to increase awareness and prevention of human trafficking through various forms of media, partnerships with anti-trafficking organizations (such as ChildSafe!) and of course, live events.

The lads arrived at Friends-International eager to learn about ChildSafe and the work of Friends-International. They certainly were excellent students, listening intently to the ChildSafe team as they explained the ChildSafe 7 Tips and conducted training making The Click Five surely our most popular certified ChildSafe band! This training ensures The Click Five can now travel ChildSafe and protect children wherever their music takes them around the globe.

ChildSafe training over, the boys were swiftly bussed to Mith Samlanh where they performed unplugged for the students in Club Friends. The kids loved them and The Click Five were fantastic, briefly morphing into The Click Six with onstage translation and dancing from our very own Karona! Crowd participation was the order of the day and the band soon whipped the crowd into a frenzy… and probably the first time the band had used an upturned kitchen bowl as a drum…!!

It was sad to say goodbye but the show had to roll on. The Click Five and students of Mith Samlanh did not want to be separated but the organizers of MTV EXIT were calling. After the boys had stopped briefly to shop at the Friends ‘n’ Stuff store, it was back into the bus – The newest ChildSafe band on the planet was only hours away from performing in front of 40,000 fans, increasing awareness and prevention of human trafficking.
