A new award for Friends-International

Friends-International’s Executive Director, Sébastien Marot, has been selected as one of the EastAsia/Southeast Asia regional winners of the 2009 Social Entrepreneur of the Year competition. Sébastien will join the global network of 160 outstanding Social Entrepreneurs recognized by the Schwab Foundation.

To help integrate Friends-International into the networking platform, Sébastien will attend The Annual Meeting of the New Champions held by the World Economic Forum in Dalian, China, September 10-12, 2009.

The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship helps organizations by
creating unprecedented opportunities where social entrepreneurs who have successfully implemented and scaled their transformational idea, can further the legitimacy of their work, have access to usually inaccessible networks, and in consequence, mobilize the financial and in-kind resources that enable them to continue to strengthen and expand.
