Friends is one of Top 100 NGO’s in the World!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that Friends-International been selected as one of the Top 100 NGO’s in the World by prestigious international publication The Global Journal!
This accolade is a truly tremendous achievement for us – with estimates placing the number of international NGO’s at well over 40,000, this is the first ranking of its kind in the world, and selection was made by criteria including impact, innovation, transparency, accountability and efficiency. The huge achievement of Friends-International in being placed in the Top 100 after just over 17 years of operation is underlined by the fact that many of the others on the list include internationally renowned and long-established organizations such as Save the Children, Oxfam and Amnesty International. We are also the only Cambodian-based organization in the Top 100! Read more about it by clicking here
Friends-International founder and executive director Sebastien Marot learned the news at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he is presenting the work of the organization and his vision for building the futures of children, young people and communities forced onto the margins of society to delegates this week.
A delighted Sebastien said –
‘This is tremendous recognition, especially considering that Friends-International started in Cambodia and that it is a Cambodian model that was adapted internationally which is now among the 100 best in the world!’
