Sosense<\/a>, a Swiss social enterprise platform, has chosen Friends-International<\/a> as one of six \u2018inspiring organizations\u2019 for its Education matching campaign.<\/p>\n

This campaign begins Monday, July 16th and will run for two weeks until Friday, July 27th. All funds raised via sosense.org<\/a> within this campaign period will be doubled up to a limit of 25,000 Swiss francs (roughly USD $26,000).<\/p>\n

All money raised will go to our Mith Samlan<\/a>h program in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to support our non formal and remedial education programs working with marginalized children to help them back to school.<\/p>\n

How could it get any better?<\/p>\n

Well, quite surprisingly it has.<\/p>\n

Very recently we received fantastic news from a private Australian donor who offered to double any donation for our vital outreach and education work up to USD$120,000. The agreement not only takes into account the Sosense<\/a> Education matching campaign, but all donations made to Friends-International<\/a>!<\/p>\n

This is a very exciting opportunity for Friends-International<\/a> and the Mith Samlanh<\/a> team.<\/p>\n

Since 1994 Mith Samlanh<\/a> (“Friends” in English), our local arm of Friends-International<\/a>, has been working with disadvantaged Cambodian children, their families and the community to develop creative projects that effectively support them to become independent, productive members of society.<\/p>\n

Mith Samlanh<\/a> offers food, shelter, medical care, training and educational facilities for over 1,800 such children each day, on the streets, in communities and in their centers.<\/p>\n
