CHILDSAFE NETWORK
The worldwide ChildSafe Network involves members of all tiers of society and the international community to protect children from all forms of abuse.
The ChildSafe Network is a Friends-International Initiative for the Protection of children and is designed to:
- Participate in the global reduction in the number of children having to live and work on the streets
- Improve the protection of children from all forms of abuse
- Increase society’s involvement in the protection of children
The ChildSafe Network reinforces the work carried out by the Friends Programs and the CYTI Alliance.
This is achieved by:
- Establishing a child protection network
- Coordinating a local and international awareness campaign
- Using social marketing strategies and methodologies.
Since the program started in 2005, ChildSafe provided accurate knowledge on the plight of marginalized children and youth to over 2 million travelers and countless local communities. Over 50,000 children and youth have benefited from ChildSafe Network activities and services (hotline, on-line, CN Center, hospitality students, child rights training) and in 2009 1,613 children received direct protection from the Network.
