When, after seeing our campaign materials, people\u00a0acknowledge that\u00a0visiting orphanages, or giving to begging children is actually a harmful practice, they often ask ‘Well, what else can I do to help?’<\/p>\n
What can you do?<\/p>\n
In addition to placing your support with some of the many organizations working to make life better for children and families in Cambodia, you can also donate blood. Most Cambodian hospitals face chronic shortages of blood, and your action could literally help save lives.<\/p>\n
The call came out from Angkor Hospital\u00a0for Children (AHC)\u00a0in Siem Reap this week\u00a0that their blood stock was low, so today ten Kaliyan Mith Siem Reap (KMSR) staff members headed to the hospital at lunchtime to donate blood. For eight out of the ten staff, it was their very first time donating blood, and although very nervous, they were happy to be able to help out, knowing how important AHC\u2019s work is.<\/p>\n

AHC is a great partner of KMSR (we partner with them for our foster care project, and also refer other beneficiaries there) and the team will definitely be back to donate again – in fact a second\u00a0group will go next week.<\/p>\n
