CHILDREN WE WORK WITH

It is estimated that there are 150 million street children around the world and unfortunately, this number is increasing.

Friends-International started working with street children in 1994. Since then we have expanded our services to support other groups of marginalized children between 0 and 24 years of age. Marginalized urban children and youth include those who are living and working on the streets, using drugs, affected by HIV, migrants, in prison, victims of abuse, domestic violence, or poverty or affected in any other way that prevents them from having their internationally recognised rights as children fulfilled.

The current financial crisis will only make problems worse and it is expected that vulnerabilities among children and youth will drastically increase in the coming years as a result of this.
